Kris Humphries has rejected a $7 million divorce settlement offer from his estranged wife Kim Kardashian, and according to new reports instead wants a "public apology" from her and an admission that their marriage was a sham.
"Kris wants Kim to admit to fraud, to admit the whole thing was staged for publicity, to make a public apology to him because he really wanted a marriage," a source has told the New York Post.
Kardashian, 31, has received widespread backlash ever since filing for divorce from Humphries just 72 days into their marriage. She has been reported by some media sources as allegedly offering the NBA star $7 million to "shut up and go away," which he immediately refused.
"Kim's camp is depicting him as money-hungry, but in fact he turned down a $7 million settlement. Her camp is putting out stories about 'Kim's divorce hell' hoping he'll cave in, but he won't," the source explained.
Humphries is contesting Kardashian's divorce filing and has filed for an annulment based on fraud.
The 27-year-old recently demanded that Kardashian reveal exactly how much money she earned during their short marriage in an attempt to prove what many critics have long suspected, that she profited from their lavish August 20 wedding.

Although Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, have both vehemently denied earning any money from the wedding, critics allege that the reality TV personality sold the wedding filming rights to the E! Network, and wedding pictures to a tabloid magazine for an exorbitant amount of money, according to Radar Online.
Humphries insists that he was blinded and used by Kardashian to fulfill an agenda which was crafted for financial gain and that "the entire wedding was staged by her and her family," the source said.
Kardashian, who is currently being sued for $5 million in a separate lawsuit, could be forced to turn over her bank and credit card statements, and if Humphries' claims prove accurate her image could become further tarnished.
